Founded in Vienna in 1947 by visionary engineers dedicated to advancing audio, AKG has defined the standard for pure, natural sound for more than seven decades. The Beginning
In 1947, AKG is founded in Vienna by Dr. Rudolf Goerike and Ernst Pless, with the first microphones quickly adopted by radio stations, theaters and jazz clubs.
A World First
AKG makes history with the world’s first high-quality condenser microphone (D 12), the remote-controlled C 12 and the D 36. One of the first customers of the famous C 12 microphone was the BBC in London.

Technical GRAMMY® Award and Beyond
